Tripp Trapp in Parenting Magazine

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that the Stokke Tripp Trapp was featured in Parenting Magazine. I know that most Austin parents already know that the Tripp Trapp is awesome! But I wanted to share with you in case you weren't aware of how great it is. Its so nice to have my daughter at the table with the rest of the family instead of higher up with her own tray and separated from us. It makes for a much more connected family time at meals.

I also wanted to write about some of the new things coming up at the store. The story time started last week and it was so much fun. We had a lot of happy campers circled around to hear some great kids stories. Please check our calendar for any new things going on here because we are always adding new fun stuff. The pics above are from last Friday's tea party that was such a hit with the little ones. I hope everyone is having a great summer and trying to stay cool.
Best Wishes,
Angela

Newest Austin Baby has arrived!

Little Eilis Maya arrived 2/19 this week. She weighs 8 pounds, 7 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long... and is, of course, a beauty! Mama Erin is doing well, and Papa Alonso and big brother Andre are absolutely elated!

Diapering Parody

This one is too funny to not pass along! Enjoy a chuckle from Austin Baby! (...well, actually from Saturday Night Live, but if you're like us you probably passed out from mama and papa exhaustion long before Saturday Night Live came on!)

Any other brilliant ideas?

Austin Baby Photo Shoot

Hello everyone, Angela here.
It has been a while since I have blogged so once we had something really cool happen I thought it was a good time to write. We are moving soon to our new larger location and we wanted to have something special and inviting at the new store. So we decided to invite our customers to meet our very own Austin babies.
So we were lucky to have met a great photographer named Margaret Gruesbeck. She was amazing and so good with our kids. She really knows how to engage them and capture the relationships between the kids. We had so much fun. We met down on town lake and Erin and I had so much fun watching the kids play and interact. To see a few of the pictures she took go to www.margaretgruesbeck.com/blog , and please feel free to add comments. And also if you would like to take a break and look at some amazing photography go to her website at www.margaretgruesbeck.com and look at the slide shows. She makes these one of kind coffee table books that are priceless.
I have truly, never seen anything like it before. So look forward to seeing her work featured in our new store. And if you are ever looking for a photographer to capture your pregnancy, birth, or family she comes highly recommended in our community and directly from us. I can't say enough great things about her and her studio.

Speaking of the new store. Its all done structurally. Now we are about a week out of starting our build out. And that should take a few weeks, and then a move, and then our grand opening. We will keep you posted.

Also, Due to some very controversial legislation we are not going to be able to carry a lot of our locally made products without some very expensive testing. With these new laws, it will make it very expensive for the local vendors to make their one of a kind items. So we have until February 10th to offer these items so please come by and support these local moms by buying up their inventory.

Other than those few things, everything is still going business as usual. I hope all of you had a safe and happy holiday's. Thanks to all of our great customers who supported local businesses during the shopping season:-)

Cloth Diaper Donations

Calling all cloth diaperers!

Austin Baby has been gearing up to start our cloth diaper donations to Austin families. We can’t wait! We will be donating 1 diaper for every 10 that are purchased through the store!

In the meantime, we have been contacted by Austin’s Peggy Browning who will be traveling to Ecuador to take cloth diapers to a children’s orphanage. Her contacts originally committing to donate a large number of cloth diapers have backed out, so she has been left empty-handed. If you have any cloth diapers not being used in *any condition*, she is happy to give them a new home where they will be used and much appreciated.

She leaves tomorrow, Thursday 7/3, so everything must be collected by noon tomorrow. We will have a box sitting out to make drop-offs easy, and Peggy will be sure that all donated diapers get to Peggy and to the orphanage. Below is an excerpt of Peggy’s cause: (and we'll have more on our local cloth diaper drive soon!)

Cloth diapers needed right away!

Help! The Ark Children's Homes in Riobamba, Equador have 20 infant to toddler children who are in need of cloth diapers and plastic pants. This children's home is a group of homes who take in children whom parents, doctors, and society have given up on. Here's one story of fifty to sixty current children in these homes:

About ten months ago 3 year old Juanito arrived from the hospital almost dead. His face was a purplish-grey, he couldn't walk, couldn't eat and couldn't lift his hand to his mouth to feed himself. He was severely malnourished, with puffy feet and lower legs, and an enormous belly. The rest of him was skin and bones. He'd been in the hospital 4 months and they'd done all they knew to do.

This Children's Home took him in, began to pray, took him to their doctor, put him in a private hospital, and got Juanito the help he needed.

To make along story short, Juanito is alive today, has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, and is being reunited with his family.

This Children's Home take in the "throw away" children.

Your cloth diaper donations will help this Children’s Home care for these children. Thank you for your generosity!
